Casturi Kids is made by Casturi AI (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when families use Casturi Kids, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Casturi Kids is designed for children ages 7 to 17 under the direction of a parent or legal guardian, and we follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its 2025 amendments.
Parents come first
Children cannot create their own accounts. A parent creates an account, verifies their email address, and gives verifiable consent before any child profile can use the learning space. We record when and how consent was given. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting a child profile or your account.
What we collect
From parents
- Email address and a securely hashed password.
- Optional two-step verification settings, stored encrypted.
- Your time zone and family settings.
- Billing identifiers from our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Your consent record.
About children (provided by the parent)
- A display name and username you choose.
- A PIN, stored only as a secure hash.
- Date of birth, stored encrypted. We use it to set an age-appropriate experience and otherwise use only the age range.
- Optional grade, avatar, and look-and-feel preferences.
- The subjects, helpers, daily time, bedtime, and privacy settings you choose.
When children use Casturi Kids
- The messages they send and the replies they receive.
- Learning activity such as subjects explored, quiz results, time spent, and rewards earned.
- Safety events when a message is blocked or redirected, with personal information redacted from excerpts.
- Technical information needed to run the service securely, such as session cookies, request logs without message content, and device type. These persistent identifiers are used only to keep accounts signed in and secure, never for advertising or profiling.
We ask children not to share personal details. Our safety checks look for things like names, addresses, phone numbers, and schools in messages and keep them out of replies and parent excerpts.
How we use information
- To provide learning help suited to each child’s age.
- To check every message and reply for safety, age fit, and personal information.
- To apply your settings and show you activity, summaries, and safety events in the parent dashboard.
- To run accounts, billing, security, and customer support.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use children’s information for advertising, and we do not show ads in children’s views. We do not use children’s conversations to train general AI models.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Casturi Kids, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing that service and require them to protect it:
- AI model providers process children’s messages to generate and safety-check replies. Messages pass through our safety checks first, and personal information is filtered out where detected.
- Payment processor handles Premium subscriptions.
- Email delivery sends account, safety, and billing emails to parents.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers store and run the service.
These disclosures are integral to providing Casturi Kids. We will ask for your separate consent before sharing a child’s information with any other third party, except where the law requires disclosure, for example to protect a child’s safety.

How we protect information
We maintain a written information security program. Protections include encryption in transit, encryption of sensitive fields such as dates of birth, hashed passwords and PINs, secure httpOnly session cookies, access controls that keep each family’s data separate, and logs that never record children’s message content.
Your choices and rights
- Review your children’s activity, and their conversations if your privacy setting allows, in the parent dashboard.
- Change or correct profile details at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about your family.
- Delete a child profile or your whole account from parent settings.
- Refuse further collection by stopping a child’s use and deleting their profile.
Children can see the privacy setting their parent chose, so monitoring is never hidden from them. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; contact us to use them.
